Porcelain tiles are extremely water resistant which makes them a popular choice for bathrooms and pool side areas. Due to its low level of absorption, many porcelain tiles are frost resistant. They tend to come in colours that emulate natural stone. Finishes include polished, glazed and matte.
The term stone tiles encapsulate many different types of stone such ad granite, marble and slate. These natural stones are very hard wearing and look fantastic when laid. The only drawback is that natural stones can be porous and so they must be treated with a glaze before use.
Vinyl
Vinyl floor tiles tend to be popular commercial flooring and so are warehouses and other commercial properties. This is because they are easy to maintain and last a long time in areas where there is a lot of foot fall. Vinyl tiles can be cleaned with a buffing machine to keep a new feel to them. They come in all sorts of colours and can even have a wood look if you require it.
